something of note

I'm planning my upcoming shows and this realization just struck me: with my shows in the Pikes Peak Library district we suddenly have three generations of artists with work on public display in libraries. My mother has a piece on permanent display in the Leadville/Lake County Library, I will have work at Old Colorado City branch in June, and my granddaughter has a piece on display at the Sand Creek Branch library. Interesting! (To me, anyway.)

Upcoming Art Events

Busy times ahead. I started out 2009 with the intention of getting into some shows, and it's happenin'! At present I have three pieces on display at Bella Art & Frame, Monument, CO. Stop by anytime to see them, or plan to stop in on a Thursday evening from 5 to 7 and take in an artists' demo. Another great time would be May 21, during Artwalk. There's a reception that evening, and I plan to attend.

June 2 the Palmer Lake Art Group's Spring Show will open up at Tri Lakes Center for the Arts in Palmer Lake. Opening reception is June 6, and the show will be up until June 27.

Also in June I'll have a show up at the Old Colorado City Branch of the Pikes Peak Library. July will find my art at the Briargate Branch Library, and in August I'll have art on display at the Cheyenne Mountain Branch.

If you visit the Colorado Springs Airport between October and December of this year, be sure to visit their gallery; I have a one-person show scheduled for that time.

Whew! Gotta go paint!

Artwork at First Presbyterian Church, Colorado Springs

Want to see some cool art? The visual arts committee at First Pres has artwork hanging for Lent. The art provides visual support for the sermon series; the Lenten series is called, "Lost." If you're in town, stop by the church at 219 E. Bijou, Colorado Springs, and enter through the big entrance door around the corner on Weber Street. The receptionist will direct you to the show. I have a piece entitled, "The Lostness of Peter" on the east wall of the narthex. Enjoy!
